When the latest album from the Jonas Brothers hit the shelves, it was already one of the most talked about albums in the United States. The album, dubbed “Lines, Vines and Trying Times” debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200, and the Jonas Brothers immediately set about preparing a national tour.

Nick, Joe and Kevin (and Frank) got their start earlier this decade on the Disney Channel and in their short time together, they’ve already sold over 8 million albums worldwide. Nick, who plays rhythm guitar and sings, is the youngest, but he’s been performing on Broadway since he was 7, and it was his voice that got the Jonas Brothers signed to their first record deal. Nick’s also been linked to Miley Cyrus in an on-again, off-again relationship.

Joe Jonas is the middle brother, and he shares the lead vocal duties with Nick. He has also had high profile romances of his own, including one with your country superstar Taylor Swift, who is currently on a tour of her own. The romance with Swift has put Joe, chosen in 2008 by People Magazine as one of the Sexiest Men Alive, squarely in the path of the tabloid media.

Although the brothers originally signed to Columbia, they were extremely unhappy with the low promotion of their debut album, and were able to switch labels. After an appearance on the blockbuster Disney Channel show, Hannah Montana, they were a smash success and their album rocketed to a top five place on the charts. The episode with the Jonas Brothers was a smash hit for the Hannah Montana series as well.

After the appearance on Hannah Montana, the Jonas Brothers were a smash hit and their third album peaked at number one when it was released in 2008. As the band enjoyed wild commercial success, they also starred in a reality show on the Disney Channel, which showed the group as it dealt with the onslaught of popularity.

A Disney Channel movie, “Camp Rock”, featured the Jonas Brothers and debuted with one of the highest TV movie ratings in history. The soundtrack to the movie debuted in the Top Five of Billboard’s tracking charts. The 2008 summer was complete when the Jonas Brothers were featured on the bastion of serious rock, Rolling Stone Magazine. They were the youngest band ever to appear on the cover of the magazine.

After a relatively calm spring (meaning only a tour of South America and a few European dates), the Jonas Brothers returned this summer with another sure-fire hit. The time off, Nick told Billboard, was spent “trying to learn as much as we can, continuing to grow.” They released “Lines, Vines and Trying Times” in mid-June, and by the time of the first date on their 2009 World Tour, it had already hit #1.

The first tour date kicked off in Dallas at the newly completed Cowboys Stadium in front of 50,000 fans. After the Dallas show, the brother head to Canada before winding back down the east coast of the U.S. They will continue to tour in the United States until fall, where they will jump back across the Atlantic and return to Europe.
